A police report has been made.""To the driver of Black Mercedes SJF6519G:- you failed to keep a lookout when doing a turn. – you have no right of way even if the traffic light is green in your favour as you claimed it was. – you should not have refused to exchange particulars after involving in an accident especially when injury is caused to a person.- you claimed that you work in NUH but yet failed to render medical assistance and tried to downplay the incident instead.""It is also ironic that you claimed you saw the girl dashed across the road, tripped and fell when you actually drove into her like you did not even see her.""Good luck in trying to change your police statement after this."(Video & Caption by Corden Fu, eye-witness to this accident)

The incident occurred on Friday, 29 June at North Buona Vista Road. Corden Fu, an eyewitness at the scene released the video and recounted:

“Witnessed an accident in the morning around 11.50am at North Buona Vista Road on 28th July 2017. A police report has been made.
“To the driver of Black Mercedes SJF6519G:
– you failed to keep a lookout when doing a turn.
– you have no right of way even if the traffic light is green in your favour as you claimed it was.
– you should not have refused to exchange particulars after involving in an accident especially when injury is caused to a person.
– you claimed that you work in NUH but yet failed to render medical assistance and tried to downplay the incident instead.
“It is also ironic that you claimed you saw the girl dashed across the road, tripped and fell when you actually drove into her like you did not even see her.
“Good luck in trying to change your police statement after this.”

Netizens who watched the video of the incident first expressed concern that the pedestrian was absorbed in her mobile phone, leading to the accident. In a second video from another angle, it appears that she never did that and that she was only sipping from a cup of coffee.

  1. First of all, the driver is in the wrong for mentioning that the light is green. Green light is for vehicle moving straight and not right turn. Secondly, don’t u need to stop or slow down to check anyone crossing the road and let the pedestrian cross first before u drive off? Is this not stated in the theory of traffic police test when we sit for it? Give way to pedestrian when u are making a turn. There is no excuses for saying pedestrian are playing with her phone when crossing the road afterall is green man for pedestrian to cross the road. What bullshit are u driver talking about? Get ready to face the music…

  2. Wow … Hard to believe there’s still people here who believes the driver is not in the wrong. It does not take one who has never taken Basic Theory to know who’s right and who’s wrong.

  3. David Chow says:

First, the MB driver did not run the red light. We were all not there to see what color the light was on that side of the road, but the light we can see was definitely green prior to the MB turning.

Shove that notion “she got the right of way”. That light only regulates and indicate that you’re free to cross.
    RED = Don’t Cross
    GREEN = You may Cross.
Does anywhere in your TL states that the GREEN guarantees your safety?
So who is responsible for their own personal safety?
That young lady, without a doubt crossed the road on auto-pilot, oblivious to her surroundings.
She walked right into the MB’s path. Ya, right of way. What did that get her?
She failed to exercise her right of way SAFELY.

Not defending the MB driver, as he was overly anxious to make that turn.
If anyone noticed the front end of the MB dipping, he did hit the brakes about five feet before impact. I’m not going to speculate on anything else.

Those arguing in favor of the young lady or the MB driver.
They are both in the wrong. They both fail. Those in favor of the young lady. At the end of the day, who is hurting more?
Shove that “right of way” guaranteed safety mentality.

    1. correct,if the right of way is also to the MERC,he should still stop within the yellow box to ensure that pedestrians make their way across first, unless the driver is not concentrating at all!!

  4. Cai Lee says:

Basically this is like a vehicle hitting a pedestrian while crossing a zebra walkway as there was indication of the Green Man crossing indication – right of way and all vehicle has to give way. Basic theory testing already taught.must give way. TP should see to this even there was no fatal or report. If not driver will behave like the Merc driver.

  5. its too obvious its the driver at wrong.don’t deny ok you stupid driver.so what if you insist she was looking or playing with phone, its still your bloody duty to take pedestrians into consideration FIRST.your father’s road ah?

    1. yalah father road mah got “mien siew lui”(mercedes) one, tua-ki mah, KNN, just throw this arrogant idiot to jail. What if his daughter were to hit by a aeroplane, how? no traffic light mah!

  6. Lol! Light is green but it is meant for those driving straight. U can only turn when there is no pedestrian or the left turn arrow is on. So the argument on light is green in his favour is not valid.

    1. David Chow says:

On the contrary. According to the markers on the road, right turn is permissible on green.
“U can only turn when there is no pedestrian”? O.o
Where did you learned that from?

    1. Arrogant, no heart, no respect & no etiquette, stop doing business with this shady partners period!! bring your wealth & richness to your grave lah when u die!!

    1. Yes this type of driver aught to be punished to the full extent of the law because he is wrong but still profess to be right and even try to defend a clear cut case of his irresponsible driving habit and attitude ! Shameful to the extreme !

  7. Sam Chan says:

It is not a crime to refuse to give personal particulars to strangers. Hit n run @ the driver did not stop after hitting another vehicles or pedestrians.

    1. Sam is sleeping from what you see at his profile pic….anyone can get particular from person involved from an accident site even if he is not a victim pls….

    2. Sam, if you are not a driver and do not know the rules governing traffic accident practices and reporting procedures please refrain from making frivolous comment !

  8. The government should confiscate his car, sell it n donate to charity. He will have to continue to pay his instalments if any. This will deter the same thing from happening.
