The Malaysian police are on the hunt for two men who were caught on camera dragging a woman and hacking her with a parang yesterday (8 Mar) morning in Selangor.

In a video capturing the incident that has been circulating online, a screaming woman can be seen being dragged around by one man before a second man alights from a car holding the weapon. One of the men begins hacking at the woman after unsuccessfully trying to drag her into the vehicle.

The men eventually manage to force the woman into the car and drive off. Bloodstains can be seen on the ground and on the woman’s clothing while bystanders, including one man who appears to be a security guard, look on helplessly.

The video of the attack shows graphic violence. Viewer discretion is advised.

The Malaysian police have since revealed that the victim is a 42-year-old who works at a factory at Jalan Seruling, Taman Klang Jaya, where the assault occurred. One of the assailants is believed to be the victim’s husband, according to Assistant Commissioner Shamsul:
“The husband started assaulting his wife when she came out from the factory to meet him. He attacked her with a parang as his friend watched. Soon after they forced her into a blue Satria and drove away.”
One of the couple’s three children, their 13-year-old daughter, has filed a police report that has led the police to believe that the attack was motivated by jealousy.
The woman is presently admitted at a hospital in Seremban as police investigations are ongoing.
