Woman hit by and trapped underneath public bus in Sengkang dies from her injuries


A 38-year-old woman has died from injuries she sustained after an SBS Transit bus collided into her at the junction of Anchorvale Road and Sengkang East Way, around 2.40pm yesterday. The woman is believed to have been trapped under the bus.

The woman, Ms Huan Luyang, was extricated and conveyed unconscious to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital. She succumbed to her injuries at 3.40am today and passed away in the hospital.

SBS Transit had said in a statement following the collision that their top priority was the state of the pedestrian who was in critical condition at the time. It said that it is rendering assistance to the victim’s family and is assisting in ongoing police investigations.

    Many bus routes are terribly long. Take service 30 for example. It takes nearly 2 hours from Bedok interchange to Jurong Point interchange. As a passenger I felt terrble. With all the traffic and commuters the driver must have been worse.Think should shorten some of the bus routes. Routes like services 2, 9, 12, 28, 31, 35 etc are perhaps ok.

      Just like bus 14, this bus ply a circuitous route around so many places. I would rather take the EWL from Bedok MRT Stn to Boon Lay MRT Stn instead.

        Dont play play ah. Most of the imported drivers are educated with university honours you know. Millions applied but few selected after stringent test and exported here. Our govt love them very much
